Best finance and fintech recruiters (2026): who hires for banks, funds, and fintech

Finance and fintech recruiters fill seats that a generalist agency usually cannot: investment banking, markets, quantitative research, risk, compliance, and the engineers who build trading and payments systems. The split is a specialist contingency firm for individual hires, or retained search when the seat is a partner, a CRO of a fund, or a head of a desk.

Fees are rarely on the website. Where a firm does not publish a percentage, the card says so. Software engineering outside financial services is on engineering recruiting firms. GTM and sales hiring is on GTM and sales recruiting agencies.

Key takeaways

  • Selby Jennings recruits across financial services and says a 2026 eFinancialCareers survey ranked it first for investment banking, sales and trading, and support functions.
  • Glocomms focuses on technology hiring for banks, funds, insurers, and fintech companies. Oxford Knight and Durlston Partners list quantitative and systematic-trading roles.
  • Dartmouth Partners specializes in banking, M&A, and private equity, with offices in London and the US. Goodman Masson covers finance and technology.
  • Barclay Simpson, founded in 1989, recruits risk, compliance, quant, audit, cybersecurity, and data privacy roles.
  • None of these firms publish a placement percentage. Ask whether the fee is on base salary or total compensation, and how long the guarantee lasts.

Financial services and fintech specialists

These firms live in banking, markets, fintech, or the technology those businesses hire. A general staffing firm can fill an accountant. It is a poor fit for a quantitative developer or a payments product lead.

How to choose a finance recruiter

Match the firm to the seat. A recruiter who fills investment-banking associates will send the wrong people for a fintech backend engineer, and a quantitative desk will ignore a general finance shortlist.

  • Ask for three recent placements in the same product, market, and seniority.
  • Get the fee basis in writing: base salary, total compensation, or a fixed stage price.
  • Ask what the guarantee covers if the hire leaves, and whether the search is exclusive.
  • For a regulated role, ask how they screen licenses and employment gaps.
  • Confirm they will not recruit your current team for other clients while the search is open.

The hire still needs a system to sell from

A finance recruiter fills the seat. OneGTM does not recruit. We build the outbound, signal, and CRM system a revenue team uses after someone starts.

If you run a recruiting firm and the bottleneck is candidate sourcing, that is a different build. The Coastal Recruiting case study is that version of the work.

  • A new salesperson has no scored account list.
  • Replies land in a personal inbox.
  • You cannot see which source produced the meeting.

Finance and fintech recruiting FAQ

What are the best finance and fintech recruiting firms?
For financial services broadly, Selby Jennings covers banking, markets, risk, and fintech, and Glocomms focuses on technology talent for those same firms. Oxford Knight and Durlston Partners list quantitative and systematic-trading roles. Dartmouth Partners specializes in banking, M&A, and private equity. Goodman Masson covers finance and technology. Barclay Simpson covers risk, compliance, audit, and quants. Options Group is an executive search firm used for senior markets roles. Morgan McKinley and Robert Half cover a wider set of finance and accounting seats.
How much do finance recruiters charge?
None of the firms on this list publish a placement percentage. Contingency search is usually a percentage of first-year pay, due when someone starts. Retained search, common for leadership, is paid in stages. Ask whether the fee is calculated on base salary or total compensation, and what the replacement guarantee covers.
What is the difference between a fintech recruiter and a software engineering recruiter?
A fintech recruiter hires people who have worked inside banks, funds, payments, or trading firms. A software engineering recruiter hires engineers across industries. Glocomms and Oxford Knight sit on the fintech side. General engineering firms are on a separate list.
Should a quant hire be contingency or retained?
A single quantitative developer is often contingency or a contained search. A head of quantitative research, a chief risk officer, or a desk head is usually retained, so one firm owns a confidential process. Options Group is the executive search option on this list.
Does OneGTM recruit finance talent?
No. OneGTM builds outbound, signal, and CRM systems. The firms on this page do the recruiting.
