Claude for sales: the plugin, Claudeforce, and what works (2026)
Sales teams can now use Claude three ways: Anthropic's Sales plugin for Claude Cowork, Claudeforce for Salesforce, and Claude Code for building custom sales systems. Here is what each does, how teams build bespoke sales tools and outbound systems with Claude Code and Deepline, and how to roll it out without making a mess.
Key takeaways
- Anthropic's Sales plugin adds call summaries, deal reviews, close plans, pipeline reviews, and forecasts to Claude Cowork.
- Claudeforce (Salesforce and Anthropic, announced August 27, 2026) brings live Salesforce data into Claude with 37 skills.
- Claude Code plus a data API like Deepline builds bespoke sales tools and full outbound systems: capture, enrich, score, route, and reply handling.
- Clean CRM data and a short training matter more than which AI tool you pick.
What "Claude for sales" means in 2026
There are now three ways sales teams use Claude. The first is Anthropic's Sales plugin for Claude Cowork. The second is Claudeforce, a joint Salesforce and Anthropic plugin. The third is Claude Code, which GTM engineers use to build custom sales systems. They solve different problems.
Anthropic's Sales plugin
Anthropic's Sales plugin runs in Claude Cowork and covers prospecting, call prep, follow-up, deal strategy, and pipeline management. It ships with dozens of skills, including:
- Call summary: turns a transcript into a follow-up email and CRM updates.
- Deal review: finds what is blocking a deal.
- Close plan: drafts a mutual action plan with the customer.
- Pipeline review: flags stalled deals and missing next steps.
- Forecast: writes commit, best case, and pipeline narratives.
It also runs daily briefings, call prep with account history, stakeholder maps, and inbox sweeps. It connects to Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft 365, Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack, Gong, Zoom, Clay, and Apollo, and it also works from uploaded exports if you have not connected anything.
Claudeforce: Claude inside Salesforce
On August 27, 2026, Salesforce and Anthropic announced Claudeforce, a plugin that brings Salesforce data and workflows into Claude with 37 prebuilt skills for meeting prep, deal health, and pipeline management. It started with pilot customers, and an open beta was expected in September 2026. For Salesforce shops, this is the most direct way to put Claude in front of reps with live CRM data.
Beyond the plugin: bespoke sales tools and outbound built with Claude Code
The plugin helps reps work faster inside the tools they already have. The bigger gains usually come from building tools that fit exactly how your team sells. I gave a talk on this at Deepline's April Tools Day in 2026: custom sales tooling built for one team tends to return far more than another generic GTM seat.
The pattern that works: Claude Code writes and runs the system, and Deepline gives it the data. Deepline is a CLI and API that puts dozens of GTM data providers (Apollo, Crustdata, PDL, Hunter, LeadMagic, Apify, and more) behind one interface, with waterfall fallbacks and cost-aware routing, and it installs as a skill inside Claude Code. So instead of building a table, you tell Claude what you want enriched and where it should go.
Here is an outbound system I built this way for a client:
- Capture. Deepline and Apollo webhook anyone matching the right titles into a database.
- Filter and enrich. A scheduled job drops bad fits, then enriches the rest through LeadMagic, Apify, and other providers.
- Score. Claude scores each person from 0 to 100 by persona, and only people above a threshold get contact data, which keeps spend down.
- Route. High scores go to Instantly sequences. The very top go to LinkedIn for a personal touch.
- Reply. Replies land in Slack, where a custom AI bot drafts the response for a human to approve and send.
Other bespoke tools we build for sales teams: account brief generators reps open before every call, internal web apps that pull CRM, product, and signal data onto one screen, and reply triage that sorts and drafts responses so reps only touch the conversations that matter.
This is the work behind Claude Code for GTM, and it pairs well with the plugin: the plugin for the rep's day, custom systems for the pipeline underneath. More on the code-first approach in Can Claude Code Replace Clay?.
Where Claude helps sales teams most
Account research
A one-page brief on the company, recent news, hiring, and likely pains before a first call.
Call prep
History, open opportunities, stakeholders, and discovery questions pulled together before each meeting.
Follow-up
Transcript to recap email, next steps, and CRM fields in minutes.
Outreach drafts
First drafts of emails and LinkedIn messages grounded in real signals, edited by the rep.
Pipeline hygiene
Stalled deals, missing next steps, and stale close dates flagged every week.
Forecast narrative
A written summary of commit and best case that leadership can read in two minutes.
What to watch out for
- Garbage in, garbage out. If the CRM is messy, Claude's summaries and forecasts will be too. Clean data first.
- Unreviewed outreach. AI drafts sent without a human read tend to sound the same as everyone else's.
- Permissions. Decide which systems Claude can read and write to before connecting them.
- Adoption. Tools only help if reps use them. Short training and a few shared skills beat a long rollout.
How OneGTM sets up Claude for sales teams
- Audit. Look at the CRM, call recorder, email, and where reps lose time today.
- Connect. Set up Claude with the right connectors and permissions for your stack.
- Customize. Write skills for your process: your call prep format, qualification framework, and follow-up style.
- Automate. Build the pieces reps should not do by hand with Claude Code: enrichment, scoring, routing, and reporting.
- Train. Short hands-on sessions so the team uses it. See AI enablement and training.
