ZoomInfo vs Cognism (2026): which B2B data platform should you buy?

Pick ZoomInfo if you want the broadest sales and marketing platform in one contract, with intent, website visitor data, workflows and ABM tiers on top of contact data; pick Cognism if you mainly need accurate contact data and phone-verified mobiles for reps, with a simpler two-package structure and credits that are not spent again on contacts you already revealed. Neither publishes a price, so you will be negotiating either way.

Disclosure: I do not resell either product. At OneGTM I run enrichment through Deepline and Clay waterfalls that query many providers per record, so I see a lot of data vendors side by side. This page explains how each company structures pricing, what each plan includes according to their own pricing pages on 1 November 2026, and where each one wins.

ZoomInfo vs Cognism pricing compared

Both vendors price by conversation, so the useful thing to understand is the levers. ZoomInfo's pricing page says the price depends on features, number of licenses and credit usage, that each profile export costs 1 credit, and that integrations may require a minimum bulk credit purchase. In practice the tier (Professional vs Copilot), the seat count and add-ons like Streaming Intent move the number most. Cognism's levers are the package (Standard or Pro), seats beyond the 5 included, and the credit allocation, with CRM Enrichment quoted on top.

Neither company publishes a figure, and I am not going to repeat third-party estimates as fact; they vary widely by seat count, term and negotiation. The structural difference worth pricing out is re-use. Cognism does not charge again to view a contact you already revealed, and only spends a new credit if the person changes jobs. ZoomInfo charges per export. If your team works the same accounts repeatedly, ask both vendors to model your real usage over 12 months.

  • ZoomInfo Professional: contact and company profiles, mobile numbers and business email, CRM integrations (HubSpot, Salesforce and more), Chrome extension, AI email generation, dialing.
  • ZoomInfo Copilot Advanced: adds buyer intent, website visitors, account fit score, champion tracking, buying group filters and workflows.
  • ZoomInfo Copilot Enterprise: adds real-time and custom intent, earnings call signals, competitor alerts, advanced workflows and reporting, Copilot chat.
  • ZoomInfo Marketing Demand: 75K credits and 25 intent topics; ABM Lite: 100 intent topics; ABM Enterprise: 150K credits and unlimited topics.
  • Cognism Standard: contact and company data, MCP and API access, firmographic, technographic and signal filters, AI account research, CSV enrichment; 5 seats.
  • Cognism Pro: everything in Standard plus higher-quality mobile data, on-demand mobile verification, Bombora intent and enhanced dashboards; 5 seats.

Features compared

ZoomInfo is a platform: data is the base layer, and the higher tiers add intent, visitor identification, workflows, AI account summaries and a full marketing and ABM product line. Cognism is narrower and more focused on the contact record itself, especially mobile numbers, with signals and intent as supporting features. The right one depends on whether you want one vendor for many jobs or the best contact data you can get for reps who dial.

  • Contact data: both sell emails, mobiles, job titles and company firmographics. Cognism emphasizes phone-verified mobiles and offers on-demand verification on Pro.
  • Signals: ZoomInfo Copilot tiers include champion tracking, job posting changes, funding info and competitor alerts. Cognism lists hiring, funding and M&A, and job change signals.
  • Intent: ZoomInfo has its own intent with up to unlimited topics on ABM Enterprise. Cognism Pro uses Bombora Company Surge with up to 12 topics.
  • Website visitors: ZoomInfo includes visitor identification from Copilot Advanced and WebSights on marketing tiers. Cognism does not list it.
  • Workflows and engagement: ZoomInfo includes workflows, dialing and outreach exports to Outreach or Salesloft. Cognism focuses on data delivery into your existing tools.
  • CRM enrichment: ZoomInfo offers CRM enrichment as part of its platform. Cognism sells CRM Enrichment as an add-on or standalone, and keeps enriched records updated.
  • AI and developer access: both list MCP or API access. Cognism includes MCP and API on Standard; ZoomInfo puts custom integrations on Copilot Enterprise.

Who should pick ZoomInfo

  • You want data, intent, website visitors and workflows from one vendor.
  • Marketing needs ABM audiences and ad targeting alongside sales data.
  • You want a free trial before talking to sales.
  • You need deep account signals like earnings calls, competitor alerts and buying groups.

Who should pick Cognism

  • Your reps cold call and mobile accuracy is the metric you care about.
  • You want simpler packaging: two plans, 5 seats included.
  • Your team revisits the same contacts and you do not want to pay again to view them.
  • You want Bombora intent and MCP or API access without buying a full platform.

The verdict

If you are buying a platform for a mid-market or enterprise GTM org, ZoomInfo covers more ground: intent, visitor data, workflows and marketing tiers all live in one contract. You pay for that breadth, and you should model credit usage carefully because exports draw down credits.

If your team's job is getting decision-makers on the phone, Cognism is the more focused buy, and the credit model is friendlier for teams that work the same accounts repeatedly.

My own approach is different: I run waterfalls across many providers through Deepline and Clay, so no single vendor's gaps decide the outcome. If you only want one contract, get quotes from both on your real seat count and usage, and test a sample of your own target accounts before signing.
