Website visitor identification tools (2026): what we use, and how to pick one
Most of the people who visit your site never fill in a form. Visitor identification tools try to tell you who they were, either the company (from the visitor's IP address) or the person (from identity data matched through cookies and partner networks). A pricing-page visit from a good-fit account is the highest-intent signal most companies have, and it goes stale in days.
Here is what OneGTM uses and has used for clients, then the person-level and company-level tools worth comparing, with pricing checked on each vendor's site. For the wider set of triggers, such as job changes, hiring, and funding, see buying signal tools.
By Garrett Wolfe, founder of OneGTM and former GTM engineer at Unify, where website visits were among the plays he ran. Updated October 15, 2026.
Key takeaways
- Company-level identification works worldwide. Person-level identification is mostly limited to US traffic.
- Match rates vary a lot by audience. Test any tool on your own traffic before you sign an annual contract.
- Route identified visitors to a person the same day. Never open with "I saw you visited our site".
- Person-level ID carries privacy obligations. Check GDPR and US state privacy laws, and update your privacy notice.
What OneGTM uses and has used
For new builds we run visitor identification inside Deepline so a visit becomes one more signal in the same scoring and routing logic. RB2B, Default, and Clay are tools we have built on for clients and still recommend in the right setup.
Deepline
OneGTM uses this
Website visitor identification is included on Deepline's Growth plan, so a visit can trigger a play that scores the account, finds the right contact, and pushes them to a rep or a sequence alongside your other signals.
Best for: Teams that want visits handled by the same plays as their other signals
Pricing: Included on Growth at $395/month plus usage. Not included on pay as you go. Enterprise is custom.
RB2B
OneGTM has used this
Identifies US visitors at the person level and posts them to Slack with a LinkedIn profile. Company-level identification works globally on every plan. RB2B is run by Retention.com, an identity data company.
Best for: Getting person-level US visitor alerts running in an afternoon
Pricing: Free with 150 resolutions a month. Starter $79/month for 300. Pro from $149/month. Pro+ from $199/month.
Default
OneGTM has used this
Inbound platform for form enrichment, lead routing, and scheduling, with website de-anonymization included on every plan. OneGTM still builds client inbound flows on it.
Best for: Inbound teams that want identification, routing, and booking together
Pricing: Growth $12,000/year. Enterprise $25,000/year. Routing and scheduling seats extra. Each identified visitor uses 3 enrichment credits.
Clay
OneGTM has used this
Web intent is a Clay signal on the Growth plan. Identified companies land in a table, where you enrich, score, and find the people to contact.
Best for: Teams already running enrichment in Clay
Pricing: Web intent requires Growth at $495/month ($446 billed annually). Not on Free or Launch.
Person-level visitor identification
These tools try to name the individual. Expect person-level results mainly for US visitors, and company-level data for traffic from the EU and UK.
Warmly
Person-level website identification with ICP filtering, Slack alerts, lead routing, and CRM sync, plus AI chat and inbound agents on higher plans. HubSpot agreed to acquire Warmly in June 2026, and it still sells standalone plans.
Best for: Teams that want identification plus AI chat on the site
Pricing: AI Web-Deanonymization from $10,000/year. Inbound Chat from $20,000/year. AI Inbound Autopilot from $30,000/year. No free plan.
Vector
ABM platform that ties site activity and other signals to target accounts and buying-committee contacts, scores accounts, sends real-time sales alerts, and builds contact-level ad audiences.
Best for: ABM teams running sales and paid ads on the same accounts
Pricing: Starter $36,000/year. Growth $60,000/year. Scale $96,000/year. Priced by usage with unlimited seats.
Leadpipe
Person-level identification for US traffic and company-level for EU and UK visitors. One credit per unique person, repeat visits are free, and identification pauses at your limit with no overage charges.
Best for: Agencies and teams that want predictable monthly costs
Pricing: Pro from $147/month for 500 identified visitors. Agency plans from $1,279/month. Platforms custom. 7-day free trial.
Company-level visitor identification
Reverse IP tools tell you which company visited, which pages they read, and how often. They work worldwide and carry fewer privacy issues, but you still have to find the right person at the account.
Leadfeeder
Long-running company identification tool with visit history, filters, CRM sync, and contact credits on higher plans. Dealfront has been renamed Leadfeeder, and it is strong on European traffic.
Best for: European companies and teams that want a free starting tier
Pricing: Lite is free for up to 100 identified companies a month. Discover from €79/month billed annually (€113 monthly). Activate from €369/month and Scale from €599/month, billed annually. Enterprise custom.
Snitcher
Company identification priced by companies identified per month, with every feature and unlimited team members on every tier.
Best for: Small teams that want low monthly pricing
Pricing: From $49/month for up to 50 companies a month, rising to $529/month for 5,000. About 30% off with annual billing. 14-day free trial.
Albacross
Company identification with intent data and a small allowance of verified email and phone credits per plan.
Best for: European SMBs that want a few contact credits included
Pricing: Starter €59/month billed yearly (€84 monthly). Professional €149/month billed yearly (€213 monthly). Organisation custom. 14-day free trial.
Lead Forensics
Company identification with decision-maker contact data, real-time alerts, lead routing, and CRM integration, sold on Essentials and Automate plans.
Best for: Teams that prefer a sales-led setup and support
Pricing: Custom pricing based on your traffic, set after a one-week trial.
HubSpot Breeze Intelligence
HubSpot's built-in data layer, the successor to Clearbit. It enriches records, shortens forms, and shows which companies in your target market are visiting your site through buyer intent.
Best for: Teams that run on HubSpot and want company-level intent without another vendor
Pricing: Included with paid HubSpot subscriptions. Data enrichment does not use HubSpot Credits; some features, such as smart properties, do.
Prices are from each vendor's site as of October 2026 and change often, so check before you buy. This is an opinionated list, not a paid ranking. Some links are referral links that may earn us a credit; that never changes what you pay or who makes the list.

Person-level vs company-level identification
Company-level tools match a visitor's IP address to a business. That works well for office and corporate VPN traffic and poorly for people working from home on a residential connection. The output is an account and a list of pages, so you still need enrichment to find who to contact.
Person-level tools match the visitor to an individual using identity data, usually a cookie or device ID matched to a hashed email through a partner network. When it works you get a name and a LinkedIn profile, and you know who to talk to. Knowing who visited also tells you whether to route the visit to the account owner or treat it as net new.
Use company-level ID for account prioritization and reporting. Use person-level ID when you want a rep to act on a specific visit the same day.
How accurate is visitor identification?
Vendors quote match rates, and they rarely hold up the same way on every site. Your result depends on how much of your traffic is US-based, how much is mobile or residential, and how senior your visitors are. The only number that matters is the one you measure on your own traffic.
Run a trial for at least two weeks and check the results against visitors you already know: people who booked a meeting, logged-in users, and customers. Count how many named people were right, how many were wrong, and how many were students, job seekers, or competitors. Then work out what you pay per useful identification.
- Check the match against known visitors before trusting unknown ones.
- Filter out existing customers, employees, and job seekers before anything reaches a rep.
- Decide what counts as intent. One blog visit is weak. A return visit to pricing is strong.
- Look at whether the tool charges for repeat visits and what happens when you hit your limit.
Privacy and consent
Company-level identification from IP addresses is widely used, but person-level identification processes personal data, and the rules depend on where your visitors are. Under GDPR in the EU and UK you generally need a lawful basis and, for tracking cookies, prior consent, which is why most person-level tools only return company data for European traffic. US state laws such as California's CCPA focus on notice and the right to opt out of sale or sharing.
In practice: use a consent banner that actually gates tracking scripts for visitors who need it, honor Global Privacy Control signals, disclose visitor identification in your privacy notice, and keep identified data out of places it does not need to be. getaob.com gates its own trackers on GPC, opt-out choices, and EU, UK, and Swiss traffic. None of this is legal advice, so check your setup with a lawyer.
When to get help with visitor identification
Installing a pixel takes ten minutes. Getting value from it means filtering out noise, deciding which visits matter, routing the good ones to the right rep fast, and keeping your privacy setup in order.
OneGTM sets up identification in your own accounts, connects it to scoring and your CRM, and writes the plays reps use when a strong visit comes in.
- You get a Slack channel full of visitor alerts and nobody acts on them.
- You are paying for identification but cannot say what it produced.
- You sell into Europe and need company-level ID that respects consent.
- You want visits handled by the same logic as your other signals.
