# Granola vs Otter (2026): which AI notetaker should a sales team pick?

Pick Granola if your reps want clean notes from their own calls with no bot in the room and you run HubSpot or Attio; pick Otter.ai if you want a bot that joins every Zoom, Teams or Meet call, a shared transcript archive, and Salesforce or HubSpot sync without paying for an enterprise tier. Both are cheap enough per seat that the decision comes down to how your team runs calls, not budget.

Disclosure: I use Granola every day for my own meeting notes at OneGTM, and I keep call recordings in Attio. I have no commercial relationship with either vendor. This page compares the two on what a sales or GTM team actually cares about: price per seat, CRM sync, how capture works, limits, and admin controls. Every price below was checked on the vendors' pricing pages on 1 November 2026.

## Granola vs Otter.ai pricing compared

For a 10-person sales team, Granola Business costs $140 a month. Otter Business, which you need above 5 users, costs $199.90 a month on annual billing or $300 a month on monthly billing (Otter was showing a 20% discount for the first 3 months on monthly at the time of writing). If you need Salesforce sync, the picture flips: Granola only offers it on Enterprise at $35 per user per month, so the same 10 reps cost $350 a month, while Otter includes Salesforce on Business.

For a solo founder or a 2 to 3 person team, Otter Pro is the cheapest paid option at $8.33 per user per month billed annually, but the 90-minute meeting cap and 1,200 monthly minutes are real limits for anyone running long discovery calls or workshops. Granola's free Basic plan has no minute cap; the catch is that notes older than 30 days drop out of view.

- Granola Basic: $0 per user per month, 30 days of history, Slack integration, no HubSpot or Attio.
- Granola Business: $14 per user per month, unlimited history, HubSpot, Attio, Notion, Affinity and Zapier, API access, pre-meeting briefs and follow-up emails.
- Granola Enterprise: $35 per user per month, adds Salesforce, SSO (50+ users), SCIM, HIPAA workspaces and audit API.
- Otter Basic: free, 300 transcription minutes a month, 30 minutes per conversation, 3 lifetime file imports.
- Otter Pro: $8.33 per user per month annually or $16.99 monthly, 1,200 minutes a month, 90 minutes per meeting, up to 5 billed users.
- Otter Business: $19.99 per user per month annually or $30 monthly, unlimited meetings, 4 hours per meeting, unlimited CRM-synced notes, up to 25 billed users; Enterprise is quote-only.

## Features compared

The biggest difference is philosophy. Granola is a notepad you type into during the call, and it fills in the gaps from the transcript afterward, so the output reads like your notes. Otter is a recorder first: it sends a bot, transcribes everything live, and gives the whole team a searchable archive. Sales leaders who want to review calls tend to like Otter; reps who want to look prepared on camera tend to like Granola.

- Capture: Granola records device audio with no bot, which helps on calls where a visible notetaker would feel heavy. Otter's bot joins Zoom, Teams and Meet and can sit in up to 3 concurrent meetings on Business.
- Note quality: Granola merges what you typed with the transcript into a template you choose. Otter gives automated summaries, action items and outlines from the full transcript.
- CRM: Granola syncs to HubSpot and Attio on Business and Salesforce on Enterprise. Otter syncs to Salesforce and HubSpot from Pro, with user limits on Pro and unlimited synced notes on Business.
- Sales-specific tools: Granola Business adds pre-meeting briefs and drafted follow-up emails. Otter Enterprise adds an Otter Sales Notetaker, and Otter sells a separate SDR Agent via demo.
- Search and chat: both offer AI chat across meetings. Otter caps chat queries by plan; Granola Business adds model selection.
- Admin and security: both are SOC 2 compliant per their pages. SSO, SCIM and HIPAA sit on Enterprise for both.
- Platforms: Granola has desktop, iOS, Android and Apple Watch apps. Otter has desktop, iOS, Android and a Chrome extension.

## Who should pick Granola

- Your reps run HubSpot or Attio and you want notes to land there at $14 per user per month.
- You sell to buyers who react badly to a recording bot joining the call.
- Reps take their own notes and want the AI to tidy them up, with pre-call briefs and follow-up drafts.
- You want no per-meeting or monthly minute caps on the paid plan.

## Who should pick Otter.ai

- You run Salesforce and do not want to pay $35 per user per month for Granola Enterprise.
- Managers want a full, searchable transcript of every call across the team.
- You need a bot to attend meetings a rep cannot join, up to 3 at once on Business.
- You are a solo user who wants the cheapest paid tier and your calls stay under 90 minutes.

## The verdict

For most small sales and GTM teams on HubSpot or Attio, Granola is the better default. It is cheaper than Otter Business, has no minute caps on paid plans, and the notes read like a person wrote them. I use it for exactly that reason, and the pre-meeting brief is the feature I would miss most.

Otter wins when the team runs Salesforce, when managers need a complete transcript archive, or when you want a bot covering calls nobody can attend. At $19.99 per user per month on annual billing it is still inexpensive for what it does.

If you need real call coaching, scorecards and deal views, look at Fathom Business before either. Neither Granola nor Otter is trying to be a conversation intelligence platform below the enterprise tier.
